Tow Truck Driver Injured In I-81 Crash While Assisting Stranded Vehicle: PSP

A tow truck operator was hospitalized after being hit by a passenger vehicle on Interstate 81 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Thursday, Feb. 6.

The crash happened around 6:25 a.m. at mile marker 23.0 northbound when a passenger vehicle struck the tow truck as the operator was preparing to tow another vehicle, troopers said.

The tow truck driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Details about the other driver were not immediately available.

State police are reminding motorists to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks. Additional details will be released by PSP Chambersburg at a later time.
